Circal started as MyCalendone, a calendar that colors your day by your actual energy rather than your intentions. These are the build notes: why existing calendar tools fail for energy-aware scheduling, how sleep and mood inputs drive the color model, and the reasoning behind renaming the product six weeks out from launch.
Some of these entries are engineering. Others are marketing decisions I made badly the first time — including inventing a mascot to carry a productivity philosophy that was too abstract to sell on its own. Both are here, because separating them would misrepresent how the product actually got built.
